The Culinary Union is praising Gov. Steve Sisolak's mandatory mask order but says more needs to be done to protect workers.
The governor issued the mask order earlier this week. It includes guests at casinos and residents.
Secretary-Treasurer of the Culinary Union 226, Geoconda Argüello-Kline, says it’s about time the state made face coverings mandatory for customers.
“We’re asking for this mask from early May. And we’re still saying how important it is to have this prevention, this protection,” she said.
Union members are also asking for mandatory guest temperature checks and daily deep cleanings. The Culinary Union is the largest labor organization in the state.
