Las Vegas, of course, is a town built on union labor. The Culinary, which supplies the workforce for much of the casino industry, has 55,000 members. It’s not only the state’s biggest union, it’s Nevada’ biggest political organization. Local unions, watching what happened in Wisconsin, as expected, are not rolling out a welcome mat.
“I wouldn’t want him as President,” said Tiffany Santos, a Culinary member who works at Harrahs. “I don’t think very highly of him. This is a union town. We fight for what we have,” she said.
