STATEMENT by Geoconda Argüello-Kline regarding regular testing for frontline hotel/resort workers:
The authority on public health in Clark County, the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD), has recommended regular testing for all frontline hotel/resort workers.
SNHD: “Test 100% of front-line employees (housekeeping, casino floor staff, registration, cafeteria, restaurants) initially at or before reopening, then every two weeks for one month, then once a month until end of phase 3.” (http://media.southernnevadahealthdistrict.org/download/COVID-19/reopening/what-hotels-resorts-can-do-to-prevent-covid-19-transmission.pdf)
The Culinary Union demands that the Nevada Gaming Commission, the Nevada Gaming Control Board, and the Clark County Commission implement this strong standard immediately and urges them to mandate that this updated guidance from SNHD is adopted and followed by all casino resorts.
