 Tropicana Contract Update

It has been over a year since the Tropicana’s contract expired on May 31, 2007.  A lot has happened since then.  The Tropicana:
• laid off hundreds of workers.
• filed in bankruptcy court for reorganization.
• CEO resigned.

Despite the layoffs and bankruptcy, the pursuit of the Las Vegas Dream by Tropicana workers remains strong.

Tropicana workers recently circulated a petition among their co-workers. The petition demands that management agree to the same contract as the rest of the Strip.  More than 85% of Tropicana workers signed and a delegation of 300 workers were present when the petition was delivered to the new CEO.

All Culinary Union members are sticking together and stand united with Tropicana workers to fight for our Las Vegas Dream.
