When Will What Happens in Vegas Return to Las Vegas?

Culinary Union Local 226, which represents 60,000 hospitality workers in Nevada, condemned the mayor’s remarks and issued support for the governor’s approach. The union said 11 of its members have died from Covid-19. “We want people back to work, but it has to be safe and secure and we don’t want workers to be part of an experiment,” said Geoconda Argüello-Kline, the union’s secretary-treasurer, in a statement.

The union has asked companies to provide more training and cleaning supplies and paid leave for quarantines once business reopens. More than 343,000 people in Nevada have filed for unemployment since the shutdown began in mid-March, according to federal reports.
