The social compact is an unwritten but well-understood code in Southern Nevada which dictates that casinos will treat their employees fairly. Of course there are exceptions, and it doesn't always work perfectly, but it basically means that the gaming industry will provide good, stable jobs.
One of the pillars of this social compact is the high degree of unionization that exists in the casino industry here, but it reaches beyond that.
This is where Station crossed the line.
