UNION MEMBERS TO START PICKETING IN DOWNTOWN LAS VEGAS
Casino workers continue to fight to get a contract for themselves and their families. They will have a picket line in Downtown Las Vegas on Saturday, April 12, 2014. They will also be signing up for strike benefits and strike picket shifts at the mobile RV between the 4 Queens and The D.
WHO: Culinary & Bartenders Union members from the following properties: Binion’s, El Cortez, Four Queens, Fremont, Golden Gate, Golden Nugget, Las Vegas Club, Las Vegas Plaza, Main Street Station, The D, and Brady Laundries. Union members from Strip casinos will join them on the picket line. Each settled property has adopted an unsettled property.
WHAT: Picketing in Downtown Las Vegas
WHEN: 10am-1pm and from 4-7pm. Press is invited at 11am and 5pm at the mobile RV. Meet at the corner of Carson Avenue and 3rd Street.
WHERE: Downtown Las Vegas
On March 27, union members from companies which haven’t signed a new contract with the Unions voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike. The Union’s leadership now has the authority to call for a strike against any of these companies at any time.
