If you need help paying your rent/mortgage, you may qualify for funds through the Clark County’s CARES Housing Assistance Program (CHAP).

CHAP provides funds to Clark County residents to cover housing and utility costs if they have lost their job, have had their hours reduced at work, or have been furloughed from work. See below for more application and eligibility details.

Apply for rent assistance if you are eligible and have not already applied.

Members of the public: Questions about your rights as a tenant, contact the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada at (702) 386-1070 or info@lacsn.org

Who qualifies for CHAP funds:
*Clark County, Nevada residents
*Suffered financial hardship due to COVID-19
Note: if you are receiving a subsidy from another rental assistance program or living in public housing you do not qualify.

Required documents for the rental/mortgage assistance application:
*Photo Identification, regardless of state origin
*Verification of household members through lease agreement or other documentation
*Copy of current lease or mortgage statement in the name of the person (or other household member) requesting assistance.

Required documents for the utility assistance application:
*Photo Identification, regardless of state origin
*Verification of household members through lease agreement or other documentation
*Copy of current utility bill in the name of the person (or another household member) requesting assistance.

Examples of documents that show financial hardship caused by COVID-19:
*Past paystubs prior to COVID-19 and current paystubs to demonstrate loss of income
*Proof of Unemployment Insurance Benefits (UIB)
Proof of application in any status including, pending, approved, or denied
*Employer statement/letter


 
Si usted necesita ayuda para pagar su alquiler/hipoteca, es posible que pueda recibir fondos a través del programa CARES Housing Assistance Program (CHAP) del Condado de Clark (Programa CARES de Asistencia para Viviendas).

*Copia del arrendamiento o la hipoteca actual a nombre de la persona (u otro miembro del hogar) que esté solicitando la asistencia.

Documentos requeridos para la solicitud de asistencia para servicios públicos:
* Identificación con foto, sin importar el estado emisor
*Verificación de los miembros del hogar mediante el contrato de arrendamiento u otra documentación
*Copia de un cobro actual de servicios públicos a nombre de la persona (u otro miembro del hogar) que esté solicitando la asistencia.

Ejemplos de algunos documentos que demuestran dificultad económica causada por COVID-19:
*Talones de cheque previos al COVID-19 y talones actuales para demostrar la pérdida de ingresos
*Un comprobante de sus Beneficios del Seguro por Desempleo (UIB)
Comprobante de la solicitud cualquiera que sea su estado, ya sea pendiente, aprobada, o denegada
*Una carta/declaración de su empleador
