🏡 State of Nevada Rental Assistance Program

The State of Nevada's short-term rental assistance program for Nevadans experiencing financial hardship due to COVID-19 is now taking applications. Rental assistance funds will be offered as a grant to eligible Nevada tenants and are NOT required to be paid back.
 
Funds will be awarded on a first-come-first serve basis, and will be paid DIRECTLY TO LANDLORDS ON BEHALF OF TENANTS.
 
In order to be eligible for funds, applicants:
  • Must be a tenant in Nevada with a current, active lease in which back-rent is owed;
  • Must be able to demonstrate financial hardship due to COVID-19 (loss of employment, reduction in work hours, and/or reduction in wages)
  • Must have a gross annual household income that is at or below 120% of Area Median Income;
  • Must not be receiving Federal Voucher Housing Assistance; and
  • Must have household liquid resources less than $3,000.
Tenants who have been financially impacted by COVID-19 and have missed rent payments are encouraged to visit housing.nv.gov to begin the application process.
 
Upon successful completion of the application, tenants will be notified upon approval and funds will be disbursed directly to the tenant’s landlord. More information about the program can be found in both ENGLISH and SPANISH or by calling 2-1-1.
 
El programa de asistencia para alquiler a corto plazo del Estado de Nevada, disponible para los residentes de Nevada que están pasando por dificultades económicas debido al COVID-19, está recibiendo solicitudes.
 
Los fondos de asistencia para alquiler se ofrecerán como subvención a los inquilinos elegibles en Nevada y NO se requiere su devolución.
 
Los fondos se otorgarán por orden de solicitud, y se pagarán DIRECTAMENTE A LOS ARRENDADORES DE PARTE DE LOS INQUILINOS.
 
Para poder recibir los fondos, los solicitantes:
  • Deben ser inquilinos en Nevada con un contrato de arrendamiento actual y vigente, por el cual se deban rentas atrasadas
  • Deben poder comprobar su dificultad económica debido al COVID-19 (pérdida de empleo, recorte de horario, y/o recorte de sueldo)
  • Debe tener un ingreso familiar anual en bruto igual o inferior al 120% del Ingreso Medio del Área
  • No debe estar recibiendo un Vale de Asistencia Federal para Viviendas; y
  • Debe tener menos de $3,000 en recursos líquidos familiares.
Se anima a los inquilinos que han sufrido un impacto económico por el COVID-19 y que no han pagado meses de alquiler a que visiten housing.nv.gov para iniciar el proceso de solicitud.
 
Al completar satisfactoriamente la solicitud, los inquilinos recibirán notificación al ser aprobados y los fondos se girarán directamente al arrendador. Se puede encontrar más información acerca del programa, en inglés y español, llamando al 2-1-1.
