The Fast Week
On Tuesday, April 24th, we broke our historic seven-day fast at Red Rock Casino with a rally full of Local 226 members, community supporters, faith leaders, and, of course, the 17 dedicated fasters from Station Casinos and other union properties. We estimate rally attendance of over 1,000 supporters! It was a busy seven days at the fast site outside of Palace Station: We were joined throughout the week by our brothers and sisters from other unions and community allies. We were also visited by U.S. Congressman Luis Gutiérrez, California Assemblyman Ricardo Lara, California Assembly Speaker John Perez, Nevada State Senator Ruben Kihuen, Nevada State Assemblyman Richard "Tick" Segerblom, and State Senators Steven Horsford and Sheila Leslie.
