For the first time in over 22 years, the Culinary and Bartenders Unions led 700+ hospitality workers in a strike as they continue to push for a new 5-year union contract at Virgin Las Vegas.
A planned 48-hour strike at Virgin Las Vegas began Friday, May 10th at 5:00am and has now ended. With the 48-hour strike, Virgin Las Vegas workers sent a strong message that this company needs to do the right thing for their employees and our community.
Negotiations continue and the Culinary Union calls on Virgin Las Vegas to stop treating their workers as second-class, respect them, and agree that one job should be enough!
Every casino on the Las Vegas Strip and Downtown Las Vegas has already settled a fair contract and it’s time for Virgin Las Vegas to do the right thing.
Por primera vez en más de 22 años, la Unión Culinaria y de Cantineros lideraron a más de 700 trabajadores de la hospitalidad en una huelga mientras continúan presionando por un nuevo contrato de unión de 5 años en Virgin Las Vegas.
La huelga planificada de 48 horas en Virgin Las Vegas comenzó el viernes 10 de mayo a las 5 de la mañana y ya ha finalizado. Con la huelga de 48 horas, los trabajadores de Virgin Las Vegas enviaron un fuerte mensaje de que esta compañía necesita hacer lo correcto para sus trabajadores y nuestra comunidad.
Las negociaciones continúan y la Unión Culinaria hace un llamado a Virgin Las Vegas para que deje de tratar a sus trabajadores como empleados de segunda clase, los respete y ¡estar de acuerdo en que un trabajo debería ser suficiente!
Todos los casinos del Strip de Las Vegas y del Downtown de Las Vegas ya han acordado un contrato justo y es hora de que Virgin Las Vegas haga lo correcto.
