The Dream and Promise Act (House Resolution 6) has passed the House and moves to the Senate for a vote. UNITE HERE and the Culinary Union have been fighting to ensure that this bill was passed this week.
Culinary Union members thank Nevada’s congressional representatives: Congresswoman Dina Titus, Congressman Steven Horsford, and Congresswoman Susie Lee. Congressman Mark Amodei was the only Nevada representative to vote NO on this important bill.
The Dream and Promise Act will provide permanent protections and a pathway to citizenship for 13,000 Dreamers and 6,300 Temporary Protected Status (TPS) holders, including thousands of Culinary Union members.
TPS holders and Dreamers have lived in this country for nearly two decades. They have bought homes, they pay taxes, and they have raised their family and U.S. citizen children here in Nevada. They are your coworkers, friends, and neighbors.
The Culinary Union will not stop fighting until there is a permanent solution for TPS and DACA.

La Ley del Sueño y Promesa (The Dream and Promise Act) (Resolución No. 6 de la Cámara de Representantes) quedó aprobada por la Cámara de Representantes y ahora pasa al Senado para votación. UNITE HERE y la Unión Culinaria han estado luchando para asegurarse de que se apruebe este proyecto de ley esta semana.
Los miembros de la Unión Culinaria le agradecen a los representantes en el Congreso de Nevada: a los Congresistas Dina Titus, Steven Horsford, y Susie Lee. El Congresista Mark Amodei fue el único representante de Nevada que votó NO a este importante proyecto de ley.
