Culinary Union Secures First Contract With Sphere Las Vegas, Covering More Than 800 Workers

A landmark labor agreement is taking shape at one of Nevada's most iconic entertainment venues. The Culinary Union announced June 5 that it has reached a tentative agreement on its first-ever union contract with Sphere Las Vegas, a milestone deal that would protect more than 800 hospitality workers at the venue.

The agreement marks a significant turning point for Sphere, which opened in 2023 and has since become one of Las Vegas's most-visited attractions. The tentative contract represents the first time Sphere workers have secured union representation, a development the Culinary Union celebrated publicly as it broke the news.

Culinary Workers Union Local 226 — which represents approximately 60,000 workers across Las Vegas and Reno, including employees at most properties along the Las Vegas Strip and Downtown Las Vegas — shared the announcement on social media Thursday, framing it as a breaking development for the hospitality sector. "Congratulations to the Sphere Las Vegas workers on winning a strong union contract!" Culinary Workers Union Local 226 said.
