Culinary Workers Union Local 226 represents about 60,000 workers, many of whom work in the hotel-casino industry.
Culinary Union Secretary-Treasurer Ted Pappageorge sent a statement to 8 News Now,
“A majority of Culinary Union members have gotten over $5 an hour wage increase since November 2023 and will get another big wage increase on October 1, 2026.
Meanwhile, Culinary Union has won the best healthcare for 60,000 members with FREE primary care, pediatrics, walk-in care, labs, radiology, physical therapy, chiropractic, acupuncture, mental health, and full family coverage including vision and dental with NO monthly premiums and NO deductibles.
