In her letter, Argüello-Kline reflected on her 32 years of organizing with the union and the challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic.
“Everyday for the past 24 months, I have woken up and gone to bed thinking about the ongoing pandemic and of the 181 Culinary and Bartenders Union members and/or their family who have died from COVID-19 since March 1, 2020,” she said.
Pappageorge said the union and its 60,000 members “owe an incredible debt of gratitude to Geoconda Argüello-Kline for her incredible leadership and years of service.”
