Health Services Coalition to picket and rally at Valley Hospital

Las Vegas, NV - The Health Services Coalition (HSC) will picket and rally at Valley Hospital as negotiations continue with currently contracted Valley Health System.

WHO: Health Services Coalition

WHAT: Picket and rally at Valley Hospital

WHEN: Tuesday, December 9th, 2025 from 5:30pm - 7:30pm

WHERE: Valley Hospital (620 Shadow Lane, Las Vegas, NV 89106)

WHY:

“Valley Hospitals need to stop price gouging! Valley Health System, owned by an out-of-state hospital giant, controls nearly half of Las Vegas’ hospital beds. They’ve chosen profits over patients, risking cutting off access to affordable care for approximately 300,000 Nevadans. HSC includes the Culinary Union’s Culinary Health Fund and 26 other health plans covering hundreds of thousands of workers and their families in Nevada. If no agreement is reached before January 1, 2026, the Valley Health System, and it’s 16 hospitals and facilities including Valley Hospital, Summerlin Hospital, and Spring Valley Hospital will NOT be in the Culinary Health Fund’s Network,” said Ted Pappageorge, Secretary-Treasurer for the Culinary Union. “When one corporation controls almost half the beds in our city, we all pay the price. Our community deserves better than a Goliath that puts money before medicine. Southern Nevada’s hardworking people deserve care, not corporate greed.”

The Health Services Coalition (HSC) is a nonprofit group located in Southern Nevada that focuses on purchasing high-quality, cost-effective health care services for its 27 member groups by working with health care providers and community leaders.

Valley Health Systems includes the following hospitals and facilities: Centennial Hills Hospital, Elite Medical Center, ER at Blue Diamond, ER at Cadence, ER at Desert Springs, ER at Green Valley Ranch, ER at North Las Vegas, ER at Summerlin South, ER at Valley Vista, ER at West Craig, Henderson Hospital, Spring Valley Hospital, Summerlin Hospital, Valley Health Specialty Hospital, Valley Hospital, and West Henderson Hospital.
