Vice President Biden and Senator Warren to tour Culinary Health Center,

Senator Sanders to tour Culinary Academy of Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV - UNITE HERE's Culinary Union is hosting tours of the Culinary Health Center for Vice President Biden and Senator Warren, and a tour of the Culinary Academy of Las Vegas for Senator Sanders.

*Monday, December 9th from 3pm-3:30pm: Senator Warren tours Culinary Health Center (650 North Nellis Blvd Las Vegas, NV 89110). No media gaggle or press conference opportunity expected.

*Tuesday, December 10th from 9am-9:30am: Senator Sanders tours Culinary Academy of Las Vegas (710 West Lake Mead Blvd North Las Vegas, NV 89030). No media gaggle or press conference opportunity expected.

*Wednesday, December 11th from 9:30am-10am: Vice President Biden tours Culinary Health Center (650 North Nellis Blvd Las Vegas, NV 89110).

The Culinary Health Center is innovative, high-quality, and multi-service. Culinary Health Center is designed to provide increased access to primary, preventative, pediatric, urgent, dental, and vision care to tens of thousands of eligible Las Vegas Culinary Health Fund members. A second location of a Culinary “Free” Pharmacy is located at the Culinary Health Center.

NOTE: The Culinary Health Center will be open for patients. Photos and video showing patients faces are in violation of HIPPA and will not be permitted. Lots of opportunity for b-roll.

The Culinary Academy of Las Vegas, founded in 1993, is a nationally recognized model of labor and management cooperation and is a partnership between the Culinary and Bartenders Unions and 29 properties on the Las Vegas Strip. The Culinary Academy of Las Vegas has trained over 55,000 workers in high-quality programs which facilitate entry into the hospitality industry and improve workers’ ability to move up in their careers.

In Nevada and across the country, UNITE HERE is united in one common goal: One Job Should Be Enough — enough to go to the doctor, to raise a family, to retire with dignity, and to live the American Dream. 

Las Vegas is home to UNITE HERE’s largest locals — Culinary Workers Union Local 226 and Bartenders Union Local 165, representing more than 60,000 members in Las Vegas and Reno.
