WATCH IRS Commissioner get asked about our IRS Tip Allocation rate issue by Senator Cortez Masto
On March 2, 2022, our Democratic Senators Catherine Cortez Masto and Jacky Rosen sent a letter to the IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig urging him to consult with impacted hospitality workers, including the Culinary Union, to discuss what a fair tip allocation rate would be for tipped workers in Nevada. UPDATE: On April 7, 2022 during a Senate Finance Committee hearing, Senator Cortez Masto questioned the IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig, who was there to testify on agency operations and budget request. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto requested that the IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig reconsider the agency’s decision and encouraged him to sit down with affected hospitality workers, labor unions and employers to discuss a fair TIP Allocation rate.
