STATEMENT by Geoconda Argüello-Kline regarding protecting workers in the cannabis industry (SB122)
The Culinary Union supports Senate Bill 122 because all workers deserve to work in a safe and healthy environment, and proper training is the key to making this happen. A rigorous health and safety training program has reduced injuries and protected workers in the hospitality industry.
The Culinary Union believes a similar training program will have the same positive effect in the cannabis industry especially since the COVID-19 pandemic has shown that health and safety training is more important than ever to protect all workers.
The Culinary Union urges the Nevada Legislature to support and pass SB122.
