The race is expected to be one of the closest legislative elections. Spica is a member of the Culinary Union and Edgeworth, a doctor, is seeking her second term in the Assembly. District 35 is in the far southwest corner of the Las Vegas Valley, with its eastern border along Interstate 15.
“I’m a bellman. I still clock in and out every single day. That’s how I pay my bills,” Spica said. He has been there for 16 years.
Cost of living is among his biggest concerns, especially as it relates to utility bills, health care costs and housing.
“People don’t need any more rate increases at all,” he said. “We need some help.”
